At what stage of pregnancy should I have a Maternity Photoshoot?
I’ve been asked when the best time for a maternity photoshoot is, and it honestly varies from bump to bump.
I usually recommend doing it around 30-34 weeks but this is a rough guide. First time Mums may ‘pop’ later so we’d probably be looking at doing it closer to 34-36 weeks. Whereas a second or third pregnancy may start showing earlier meaning that anytime from 28 weeks would be fine.
Leaving it until 38 weeks risks baby arriving before your photoshoot! It may also be the case that you’re feeling uncomfortable/swollen so won’t be feeling your best for photos. So 30-34 weeks really is the sweet spot for most.
When should I book my maternity photoshoot?
You can book anytime after your 12 week scan. We’ll plan a date for around 30-34 weeks with the flexibility to move it if you’re bump is showing earlier/later or if we need to work around any complications.
I’m already 34 weeks pregnant - have I missed my chance for a maternity photoshoot?
Absolutely not! Simply get in touch and I’ll do my best to get you in the studio asap. The only point at which it’s too late is once baby arrives. Anytime up to that point, we can totally make it work.
